He is an advocate of the High Court and a Senior Counsel. He left the Firm in 2005 to join public service, wherein he served in different capacities, notably as Director of Public Prosecutions and as Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Environment and Forestry, up to 2022. In 2023, he rejoined the Firm as a Legal Consultant.
He is a seasoned lawyer and has served in several Commissions in a career spanning over 30 years. He is a Certified Secretary specialising in Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) matters. His other areas of interest are arbitration and mediation.
Mr. Tobiko's areas of expertise include Corporate Law and Finance; Environmental Law Policy; Climate Change Policy, Climate Finance, Multilateral Environmental Conventions, Treaties and Agreements (Negotiations and Financing Mechanisms); Environmental Climate Justice, Litigation and other redress mechanisms; as well as Climate Finance and Carbon Markets.
